The Long Beach Sharks, are a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team and member of the North American 3 Hockey League, they play their home games at the Long Beach Municipal Ice Arena in Long Beach, NY. The Sharks organization originally began as the NY Junior Aviators in the International Junior Hockey League for the 2010-11 season and played their home games at the Aviator Sports & Events Center in Brooklyn, NY. In December, 2012, team ownership purchased the former Buffalo Stars Eastern States Hockey League Franchise and relocated the team to Brooklyn and assumed the name the NY Aviators. The team was accepted into USA Hockey and was entered into the Empire Junior Hockey League in 2013-14 during the launch of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL).
