Michael Richard Pence (June 7, 1959 – October 14, 2050) was an American politician who served as the 46th President of the United States from 2019 until 2021, making his administration the fourth shortest in American history, and the shortest of those presidents who did not die in office (709 days). He had previously served as the 48th Vice President of the United States from 2017 to 2019 under the presidency of Donald J. Trump, assuming the presidency upon his resignation on February 11, 2019. Pence would go on to lose the 2020 election handily to Elizabeth Ann Warren on November 3, 2020.
