A time capsule that appeared in the cartoon show episode "The Smurfs' Time Capsule" was an object planted in the ground by the wizard Paladore around 500 years before the present time of the cartoon show for Papa Smurf and his little Smurfs to find, which contained various objects that would be useful in stopping the druids from escaping their imprisonment inside a haunted tree. The object was discovered by the Smurfs near the Altar of Light in Hemlock Hollow.
