Doji Katai was a member of the Crane Clan who fell in love with the Lion ambassador Matsu Kochiyo. Seeing his love unreachable, he decided to get the aid of Asahina Ichizo, a master of the Tsangusuri, the Crane fetishes. Ichizo agreed to create a fetish that would make Katai to forget he once had loved Kochiyo.
