The Doctor Who Animated Series is an American-British animated series created by Russell T. Davies and premiered on BBC One in the UK, Boomerang in Japan, Teletoon and BBC Canada in Canada, Nickelodeon in Australia and New Zealand, Boomerang in Italy and on CBS and The CW in the U.S. and it's territories. In 2014, C. Bolick announced a series of the same name, which premiered in August 2014 on Youtube. The first season of the 1997 edition was produced by the Animation Corperation. As of 2016, the show is the longest-running non-primetime animated sitcom.
