Alasiyan is the last bastion of civilisation before one coming from the west travels into the Twin Sun Desert. Civilisation is used loosely here, for Alasiyan is a haven for all manner of bandits, thieves, smugglers and other persons of ill repute. It is ruled over by a sorcerer-governor and the guards of Alasiyan are said to have tamed Gryphons, which they use to great effect.
