Laird Bosie McScutta of Bowlaynee was a hare from the Highlands with the occupation of a warrior-bard. He played the fiddle, the bow from which doubled as an archer's bow. He fired flightless metal rods with this combination instrument/weapon. The rods were stored in the instrument itself. He claimed his grandfather kicked him out of the family castle due to his immense appetite. Eventually, Bosie took up the mantle of resident hare of Redwall.
