A moderate risk for severe storms was issued early in the morning on November 3 , and maintained through the afternoon. However, by mid afternoon, areas of the Ohio valley and most parts of Mississippi were upgraded to a high risk of severe storms due to the tornado threat associated with the vigorous trough and Winter storm Aurelia.
