Lin Sing is an orphan girl from the Fire Nation. She met Suko when she was very young and vowed to take care of him, referring to him as her "younger brother." She taught Suko how to fend for himself while living on the streets, how to steal and how to get away when someone gives chase. Lin came from humble beginnings but she has always had delusions of granduer, believing she was destined for more. Her prayers appeared to be answered when a chance encounter with a monk named Zhang Wong brought her and her brother to the fire temple where they met the young Avatar, Fei Yen. Lin at last believed she had found her calling, to serve at the Avatar's side, but those hopes were dashed when she soon realized Fei had no desire to be the Avatar.
