The Pûkel-Men (Dru."Abhân-khor-Drû") were stone effigies formed after the example of their constructors, the Drúedain.The Drúadan Magicians were able to transform some of their life energy to their stone statues which enabled these to act as guardians, with some rudimentary intelligence on their own.In return the Dru-conjurers suffered some of the damage their constructs took.Pûkelmen usually "died" with the decease of their makers.
