These enemies are essentially stronger White Gel Mushrooms. They can appear on their own, but they most likely serve to guard the boss. In the latter case, they are highly aggravating, as they tend to meat shield said boss while the latter summons more to back it up. They can deal an incredible amount of damage. Baiting them while other characters attack them is a good idea.
