Getae was a name given to seven Thracian tribes that inhabited sides of Lower Danube in what is today known as Northern Bulgaria and southern Romania. The singular form would be Get and Getae also may derive from a Greek exonym in which the area was a hinterland of Greek colonies on the Black sea coast which brought the Getae into contact within Ancient Greeks since a very long time.
