Along with the Soviets and the British, the Ottoman Confederacy is one of three great powers capable of challenging the hegemony of the United States of America. They are in this world's "nuclear club", yet President Colton considers them the least likely threat, owing to the professed pacifism of its leader, Abdul Fakkadi. The Ottoman Empire contains 29 provinces and numerous vassal states, with various types of autonomy. With Constantinople as its capital city, it has vast control of lands around the eastern Mediterranean.
