In this form he appears as a winged humanoid mass of dark energy, he has long tail extending from his upper back. All that is visiable of his face, is his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and his brothers Mangekyō Sharingans. While in this form he is able to fly and defend with his wings, he is able to extend his tail to grab others and consume or inject chakra into them. Despite being made up of what appears to be pure dark chakra, it is known to be diffcult to harm him with others stating that he is "dressed in stone". In addition while in this form he is able to cast multiple genjutsu within seconds of one another with pure thought this lead him to be called the "Walking Illusion".
