The Omniscient Narrator knew quite a few things which he did not share with parties involved in solving the theft of the great throne rooms of the galaxy, including the various methods by which FTL travel could be achieved, how Google could be accessed from deep space, and the fact that Rufus Q Shupilluliumash became an Ensign after the conclusion of the story. On being assigned the task of solving the throne room theft, Shupilluliumash wished for any of a number of conditions which would relieve him of the duty, including the death of the Omniscient Narrator. This did not occur.
