The SAF-23 Antifighter missile was an adaptation of the well-known proton torpedo. They were slightly smaller, and held a more elongated body, but their guidance systems were much more effective and the missiles themselves were more maneuverable. The SAF-23 was designed for the sole purpose of destroying starfighters.
