To activate these artes, one of the characters must be in the active battle party while the other must be in support. The supporting character must be called into battle through the Connect Command shortcut panel, to use his or her required arte. Immediately after the summoned character appears in battle, the other character must activate the associated arte (either through the player's own arte button shortcuts, or through Connect Command). If timed correctly, the resulting combination arte should be used automatically to replace both artes.
