An animated version of Eliot Shag was prominently featured in the first season Dog City episode "In Your Dreams." An exhausted Eliot falls asleep at the drawing board and dreams himself into his own cartoon. He feels liberated by the freedom afford a cartoon character and assists Ace Hart in traversing the streets of Dog City, as well as the surreal dreamscape of his own mind. When Eliot wakes up, his cartoon alter-ego vanishes and Ace is blamed for the kidnapping. The cartoon Eliot returned at the end of the show's final episode, "The Dog Days of Summer Vacation."
