OGA operative Clark Templeton O'Flaherty mentioned Hornby Island as the site of one of his assignments, the Hornby Island Laser Incident. It is unknown if the secrets were stolen from the Canadian government or to what extent the Canadian government was involved. Given the nature of other OGA operations, it is more likely to assume that a criminal organization operating in secret on Hornby Island was in possession of advanced laser beam technology.
