Jon Beswetherick, known as Bes, is a former defender who spent four months at Rovers in 2004. His only appearance for the club was in a League Cup game against Norwich City at Carrow Road, when he started the game but was substituted after 59 minutes, in what ended as a 1–0 defeat for the Pirates. He was signed on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2004, before being allowed to leave on another free transfer in November that year, this time to Kidderminster Harriers.
