The Rhein River was the body of water where the last remaining ore of Rheingold was located, protected by the immortal Rhein Maidens. Xena once swam to the secret location of the Rhein Maidens (once Odin informed her of the location) in order to obtain the Rheingold and create a ring of immense power.
