Thomas "Tom" Sherman was an agent for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement who was patrolling the night that all the agencies except for NCIS were holding a poker night at SECNAV Phillip Davenport's house. Unfortunately, Mossad agent Michael Rivkin was there and attacked Sherman, accidentally killing him before fleeing and as a result, an investigation was launched into Sherman's death with the NCIS Major Case Response Team led by NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs taking the lead.
