A Bhuj is a dagger specific to Sind in north India, mostly single-edged, expect for a slight rear edge at the tip. The bhuj is short, broad and heavy, with a mild curve. It often sports an engraved and gilded mount, inlaid haft and decorated knob. This knob is typically a stylized elephant head, giving the weapon the nickname "elephant knife." The blade is 7-10 inches long, and with its copper sheath 20 inches long in total. Some variants have been know to be mounted on long shafts in a manner similar to a battle axe or a glaive.
