Phillip Davis, who was mayor of Farbanti at the time, founded along with six other people the Centrist Party in January 2367. He was named leader by the group of seven and proceeded to lead it for a little over ten years. He resigned as leader after the disastrous electoral defeat of 2376 and retired from politics before the 2380 election.
