Hiroshi Aramata(荒俣 宏Aramata Hiroshi, born July 12, 1947) is a popular author, translator, and screenplay writer in Japan. Born in Tokyo, he won the Nihon SF Taisho Award in 1987. His most popular novel was Teito Monogatari (Tale of the Capitol), which has sold over 3.5 million copies in Japan alone. He also wrote Alexander Senki, a novel which eventually evolved into the anime series known as Reign in the U.S.. He is currently on the selection committee for the Japan Fantasy Novel Award. He graduated in law from Keio University.
