The Order of the Crane Mother is an ancient warrior monk society based in K'un-Lun. The Order trains its members in martial arts in order to fight the Hand. The Order also appointed the to protect the city of K'un-Lun and destroy the Hand. The last Iron Fist, Danny Rand, abandoned his position and left K'un-Lun unguarded, which lead to an attack by the Hand and the disappearance of the city.
