Anj'la was Queen of Maren in the 3rd century HE, making her a possible contemporary of King Roger II, Rebakah Cooper, and others depending no which part of the century she ruled during. She co-ruled over the country with her husband King Norrin. She and her husband ruled with the help of the Dominion Jewel, which brought great prosperity to their kingdom. Her symbol is a willow branch to show the peace and prosperity that she and Norrin brought to Maren.
