Light is first encountered during the quest, where it is guarding the Light Chamber in the Empyrean Citadel for its master Sliske with its "friend", Shadow. Light is very cheerful, and seemingly oblivious to how much Shadow hates him, though he acknowledges how grumpy Shadow is. He is happy to allow you to pass after you complete the puzzle.
