Amelia Schmidt (née Duttman; 7 September 1875 – 17 February 1986) was a verified American supercentenarian. She was born Amelia Duttman in a log cabin just outside of Garnavillo, Iowa, as one of nine siblings. Her family was of German ancestry. When Schmidt was 17, she became a schoolteacher. She married Charles Schmidt, a German immigrant laborer, around 1896. The couple had two children in total. She worked as a taylor, and became well known in her area for her knitting and sewing. Charles died in 1918. Schmidt died on 17 February 1986, at the age of 110 years, 163 days.
