In the year 2372, Kira Nerys, Jadzia Dax and Julian Bashir were taking the USS Rio Grande to the Gavara system to undertake a biological survey when they received a distress call from the Teplans. (DS9 episode: "The Quickening") In 2385, Rionoj filed a flight plan with Deep Space 9 that indicated she was taking her ship, the Furyk, into the Gamma Quadrant to the Gavara system, although she did not enter the Bajoran wormhole.
