Angela Rooks (1923 - November 2006) appeared on Coronation Street between March and April 1988 and in March 2002 as Eunice Watts, mother of Curly Watts (actress Georgine Anderson took over the role for the character's December 1995 appearance). An original Tiller Girl, she contracted tuberculosis during World War II while serving with ENSA. Having undergone an operation to remove a lung, she was forced to give up her dancing career.
