Francine Joy "Fran" Drescher (born September 30, 1957) appeared in a guest role as Miriam Brody a schizophrenic woman who changes personalities without warning from a sultry sexpot to a prude, who has Dan, who gives into her wiles, literally "tied up", bound and gagged, in the courtroom during recess in the Season 4 episode of Night Court titled "Author, Author". A talented, funny film and television actress, comedian, producer, and activist, Fran is best known for her role as Fran Fine in the hit TV series The Nanny (1993–99), and for her nasaly voice and thick Brooklyn accent.
