Neal also won a Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award as Key Hair Stylist on the 2001 science fiction film A.I. Artificial Intelligence. This latter award was shared with fellow Star Trek hair stylists Karen Asano-Myers and Terry Baliel. More recently, Neal was the hair department head on the science fiction thriller Surrogates (2009), the crime thriller Trespass (2011, with Ve Neill and Rick Stratton), the thriller The Paperboy (2012), and the science fiction thriller The Host (2013).
