During the time of the Cold War, a period of tension between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, Zyn was tasked with keeping Alif imprisoned for interrogation about his involment in a recent unauthorized murder. Being ordered to prepare for the arrival of an Acolyte by Overseer Harkun, he later met the Sith Inquisitor who managed to make Alif reveal the perpetrator, Esorr Kayin. Expressing his pleasure of working with the Inquisitor, the future Lord Kallig left the jails and continued with his/her trials, Zyn reporting his/her success to Harkun.
