The 9th Massassi Cohort was a military unit of the Royal Army of the Golden Empire. Like all Massassi Cohorts, membership was restricted to Massassi soldiers. The 9th was organized for the Great Liberation and participated in the Battle of Tizgo V. It continued to be involved in the Empire's expansion campaigns, as well as serving on special assignments as directed by Queen Rin Sakaros and her Royal Executors. In 155 ABY, Breek Zagrev brought in a detachment of the 9th to assist in controlling the Clanless Crisis on Rykar.
