Doji Iwao was an eloquent and persuasive courtier of the Crane Clan, touched by Benten, the Fortune of Romantic Love. Iwao tired of the constant politicking retired as the monk Iwao, tending the Shrine to Benten at Blue Chrysanthemum Village in Lion lands. He was a skilled gardener and teacher, and the children loved him. Iwao cared for the unique flowers around the shrine, and for the villagers.
