The majority of the Maschine Vorhut consisted of Military and Civilian Volunteers hailing from the Ancient Quincy Empire that were recruited by the First Quincy Council shortly after the conclusion of the Vasto-Lorde Debacle. The very small minority consisted spiritually aware Humans that were forcibly conscripted after their innate potential was discovered. The one thing the two groups shared in common was that they were painfully enhanced and mechanized through a dangerous yet experimental procedure.
