The VORON/Orion Special Operations Detatchment or V-SOD is part of V/ORION's Objective Forces Project. V-SOD's main purpose is to serve as a Special Operations unit, with soldiers excelling in infiltration and direct combat. While the ORION III Project has changed from its role as a S-Cell unit to a Direct Combat Unit, V-SOD Operators are still highly trained for stealth operations such as the original ORION II or Even PROJECT: ORION operations. V-SOD has been active since 2548, during the activation of the ORION II Project, and has continued to Operate throughout the UNSC-Exile War.
