The 3rd Massassi Cohort was one of the original Massassi units of the Golden Empire's Royal Army. Organized in 100 ABY for the Great Liberation, the 3rd fought in numerous engagements, including the Battle of Tizgo V. It continued to serve throughout the Empire's history, including the Battle of Renthiv in 155 ABY. It was in this engagement that the 3rd finally earned its nickname, "The Kingslayers", when a regiment of the 3rd killed the last Garjo king in the field.
