Koshchei first appeared in Hellboy: Darkness Calls. Later he appeared in the How Koshchei Became Deathless, a back-up feature in Hellboy: The Wild Hunt. In late 2015, Mike Mignola announced he was working on a Koshchei the Deathless miniseries.
