Matsu Gihei was a prominent Lion general during the War Against Fu Leng. He disappeared and was believed dead. The Kitsu Sodan Senzo summoned his spirit, who testified against Soshi Kenzan, a young shugenja. After punishment was exacted, the Soshi revealed that Matsu Gihei was still alive, and had been held hostage by the Soshi for several months. The Emperor Hantei Genji decreed that kami could not be used as arbitrators of human law anymore, and punished the Scorpion for their deception. It was unknown how the Kitsu magic was twisted.
