[ eco ­Verband der deutschen Internetwirtschaft e.V., is the the German Internet Service Providers' Association. Its aim is to further the commercial use of the internet, thereby strengthening Germany's position both in the global internet economy and as a business location. eco currently represents approximately 300 members, including approximately 140 major providers which form the backbone of the German Internet. Additionally, eco operates the largest national data exchange called De-CIX (Deutscher Commercial Internet Exchange).
