The Black Shark was a criminal and the captain of a technologically advanced submarine, that had capabilities rivaling those of the submarine commanded by The Red Torpedo. The Black Shark and Red Torpedo were personal rivals who clashed frequently, but also aided each other on rare occassions (usually under duress).
