The Valley of the Enlightened is the geographic area that contains the Valley of Enlightenment. Many pedantic scholars insist that the popular use of "Enlightened" for the physical feature, and "Enlightenment" for the political/scholarly one, reverses the meanings of the two terms and is incorrect. Popular use has won this argument, as it does most. In actual use, however, most people (including the scholars) do not make the distinction - the two terms are mostly synomynous.
