Over one thousand years before the Rider War (c. 7000 AC) Hvalmar Lackhand was the Grimstborith of Dûrgrimst Ingeitum. During a mining project on Mount Thardûr, one of his workers found a stone tree. Hvalmar encouraged further mining work but the work ceased when the dwarves found themselves confronted with a Forest of Stone.
