Camera drones, often referred to as drones, are small floating cameras used by news reporters, especially W3N, to record images and sound for their reports. This eliminates the need for a reporter to have a camera operator. The drone uses hover technology to stay aloft, while the reporter controlled the small device using an arm-mounted control. To see what is being recorded, the reporter uses a set of glasses that show a heads-up display of the drone's video. The glasses can also be tapped on the side to activate the machine.
