Bruno is a master magician who appeared at the Hippodrome near Marlinspike. Haddock was a prominent fan of Bruno and showed a "turning whiskey into water act" to Tintin. He also invited Tintin to see a new show of Bruno in the Hippodrome but due an act of Ragdalam the Fakir, Bruno's show had not occurred.
