Wilbur Whateley is a major character in the short story "The Dunwich Horror" by Howard Phillip Lovecraft. In the story, he is apparently the son of Yog Sothoth and a human woman, Lavinia Whateley. His main purpose is to summon the Old Ones into the human world, but when trying to enter a library to steal the Necronomicon he meets his end killed by a guard dog.
