Unlike the original, Satoru's is a passive ability that is constantly surging through Satoru's chakra and nervous system. Potentially, it is the drive to accelerate the excessive raw chakra harmlessly through his body, and what naturally directs overflowing amount to amplify the outer-layer and additionally expanding his magnetic field. The latter Satoru appears to be capable of utilising it consciously, which is his exceptional sensory capability. As well, it appears that the magnetic field is an extension of his own, that nullifies the effectivity of metal upon entering its zone (passively minimal 5 to 10 m) and places it under Satoru's control.
