Big Bird appeared on the October 21, 1977 episode, in which he considers changing his persona to get into big-time television. After he banters with Donny and Marie, they do a song and dance number, singing a medley of the songs "Friendship" and "Playmates." The episode also featured Glen Campbell and Bernadette Peters as guest stars.
